At times in life, we recognize a need to move on. For various reasons, we have reached that point with Mom and Dad’s place on Longboat Key. While it certainly bums me out a bit to sell the condo, I don’t see this as the end of our time making memories on that beautiful island. Now, we will do so from a different vantage point without the pressures of owning and maintaining a home so distant.

Stacey and I made a week of going to LBK for some clean out and preparations to put the home on the market. We drove the 870 miles in one day in my Ranger and arrived to enjoy a nice overlap visit with Chris and Eileen. Homemade ravs from Maggie and Ron were on the table for dinner as we walked in! DELICIOUS!! 😋

It was a great week with mostly laughs and smiles amongst a few nostalgic tears. Favorite restaurants were visited, time was spent on the beach, and we even snuck in a “Donuts & Dolphins” sightseeing boat cruise out of Anna Maria Island. I got up very early one day to kayak out on Sarasota Bay to observe a spectacular sunrise. That kayak joined us for the drive home, and has its place here in VB now.

Stacey is helping me turn the page, as she always does in so many ways. ❤️
