We awoke early in Nashville and checked out even before they had any coffee ready! That was honestly a bit of a poor decision… because.. first coffee. When we came down to the lobby, the Valet was sprawled on a couch strumming on a guitar – Music City! A good cup of Joe was found a little over an hour later as the sun came up in the rear view mirror. This was another sprint day, with a special stop planned in the Dallas area. I’m not trying to disparage, but there sure isn’t much to look at along the highways of Arkansas – at least the one we were on. I have NO doubt that there is a plethora of spectacular beauty to be seen in Arkansas, but we just didn’t have time on this trip to explore The Natural State. Shortly after getting our passports ready, we found they were actually not needed to enter Texas – who knew! At first, we saw only early budding Bluebonnets and were a bit disappointed. Fear not! The State flower came out in force as the miles rolled by. They are so beautiful! I promise a good picture of them tomorrow. We arrived in Lewisville, just outside of Dallas, to meet up with Tim and Julie Riegle at Tim’s childhood home. We were so fortunate to be able to spend some time with his Mom and his sister Sandy to catch up and snap some memorable pics. Thanks so much for having us! After a Happy Hour that was far too short, we headed into Grapevine for some Tex Mex at Esparza’s. OH MY WAS IT GOOD! From the chips and warm salsa to the churros dripping with caramel, it was the BEST Tex Mex I have ever had! Stacey had brisket tacos that I stole a bite of between my delicious fajitas. WOW! Do yourself a favor and saddle up to this place if you find yourself in Grapevine! Of course, the very best part was being able to sit and enjoy a meal in the great State of Texas with our very best friends in the world. We love you Julie and Tim! On to El Paso tomorrow, and we look forward to our view of Bluebonnets along the way! 🇺🇸🛻🇺🇸🛻
