Originally, we had planned to visit Sequoia National Park today, but several weeks ago we changed plans. Significant rain and snow melt caused several road closures, and our lodging in the park closed. So today we had a simple drive through the beautiful center of California, where we saw rolling green fields covered with gorgeous wild flowers as far as you could see. The rains have brought out such gorgeous growth. By lunch, we were in the lovely town of Paso Robles. It is a wonderful, family oriented town with shops and restaurants surrounding a pretty green common area. After lunch, we made our way about ten minutes from downtown to Sculpterra Winery. This is definitely wine country, with vineyards sprawled across miles and miles of pretty hills. The owner loves sculptures and his son developed a passion for making wine, so they combined their interests and built this unique winery. We had a wonderful afternoon tasting good wine, walking the property, and strolling around the shops downtown again. Stacey has time now for her daily nap before we head less than a mile into town for dinner. Tomorrow – home to Ryan & Melissa’s place in Santa Cruz! 🏠🇺🇸🌊
