Our month was coming to an end. For me, it was bittersweet, with a little more bitter than sweet. I think we all have a very special place in our hearts for where we grew up, wherever that may be. Both Stacey and I know that we are truly blessed to have been able to do this together. We cherish time with family, and we had so many great moments together during this beautiful month in Scituate.

Monday was a makeup golf day for the guys. As noted before, we headed to a course new to me and to Ryan, the Olde Scotland Links in Bridgewater.

Bapa drove and we soaked in some beautiful foliage during both the drive to the course and the journey around it. I know I keep saying how perfect the weather was every day, but that is because it truly was! These are the days you wish and hope for.

A few years ago, Emily found a fantastic gift for her Bapa. He loves a daily banana, so she wanted to help keep those bananas safe during walks around town and around courses. They may have been intended as a bit of a gag gift, but they come in quite handy. I’ve personally used one on several occasions, including this day on the Olde Scotland Links! We were happy to shoot two 84s and an 85 on this pretty day

While us boys were out playing, Mimi was working again to help aging residents of Scituate. She and Bapa deliver meals and smiles twice weekly to primarily elderly clients through the Meals On Wheels program. Stacey was thrilled to do a ride along with her Mom in Bapa’s absence. They had 16 meals to deliver, and Stacey was moved by how much the recipients enjoyed seeing Mimi. While there are obviously nutritional benefits to receiving these balanced meals, it is maybe even more important for everyone involved to enjoy the small but critical amount of social interaction as well. What a wonderful way for Mimi and Bapa to volunteer their time in helping their neighbors in Scituate. Meals on Wheels is a fantastic organization that is a vital part of so many communities. One of the disappointing things about our trip was the truck situation. It remains at the Ford dealer in Hanover for repairs. While the source of the noise is still not known for certain, it may indeed be the carrier bearing, as Bapa’s trustee mechanic originally suggested. Without the truck, some changes to logistics became necessary. Things, including the paddle board, would need to be stored at Camp Mimi-Bapa. Stacey’s car wasn’t well suited to getting things there, but the trip was less than a mile as the seagull flies.

Not ideal, but successful

Ryan’s time to leave was upon us. He was traveling up to the University of Vermont for a conference before heading back to California, so we brought him to Cohasset to pick up a rental car. Stacey and Ryan had discovered a new place for coffee in North Scituate called Brewed143, so we stopped there first. It was excellent!

Stacey and I had one more visit to Hazel Avenue planned to say goodbye to Mimi and Bapa. They bought their beautiful home in Scituate on October 3rd, 1977. What an amazingly good decision that was.

During our stay, I asked Mimi about the Ferrier sign over the front porch. It was a gift from their realtor when they bought the house, and it has never come down since 1977! I find that amazing and awesome!!

We were fortunate to have Dave stop by after work during our final visit. One last selfie was definitely needed!

Camp Mimi-Bapa is a very special place, with two very loving, generous, and kind proprietors. We are blessed to continue to have them in our lives.

Stacey and I took one last stroll down to the beautiful lighthouse near our Harbor Hideaway with Charlie before packing up for an early departure on October 1st. I painted two rocks and placed them with the others by the bench overlooking this pretty harbor, and I can’t wait to sit and enjoy the enhanced view again.

The Montauk Daisies were in full bloom as we prepared for our journey south.

This has truly been a spectacular September that we will always remember. Thank you everyone that made it so great. See you all again soon!
